Not Just a Princess
by
Ginger Ebbett
As a mother of two, I read children’s books daily. But where are the books that don’t display typical gender roles? As a Degree student focusing on English Literature and Sociology, studies show one thing: we aren't promoting enough growth in our little ones regarding breaking gender barriers. Let’s change that! Not Just a Princess tells the story of a young girl who, during a game of dress-up, tries on many career uniforms. Yet, in the end, she discovers being herself is always the best choice. Her future is full of possibilities, as she is truly not just a princess! Let's take a new perspective and show our little girls they can be anything, including themselves!
Ginger Ebbett is a dedicated mother and business owner. She is a University student specializing in Sociology, the study of society and social problems, as well as Litterature. There is no denying the lack of children's books breaking gender barriers. Together we can overcome this problem, one book at a time!
