When ten-year-old Adam gets roped into his older brother Tarek’s latest scheme, he can’t help but think it’s a bad idea. Hockey? What do the sons of a Hungarian mother and Egyptian father know about Canada’s national pastime? What if he humiliates himself on the ice? Life at school is hard enough with mean kids like Zack to contend with, but wobbly knees and a huge red helmet seem to scream: BULLY ME! Despite his mom’s urging to put his trust in Allah, Adam isn’t sure he can ever be more than a target on skates. Only when he meets a new coach does he learn that hockey, like life, isn’t just about scoring goals. As he navigates new (frozen) waters, Adam realizes that teamwork, perseverance, and self-belief will take him farther than he ever imagined.

A late arriver to hockey himself, he believes in the power of faith and community to help us tackle new challenges.
