A Quiet that Screams
by Farah Dudin

A senior high school student, Everlyn Monroe, wakes up one night at 1 AM in her pitch dark bedroom. Her room is haunted, her family has disappeared, and no one is to be seen in her house. Then, her doll, Seraphine, that she had kept from her childhood, comes to life! Everlyn must find a way to escape her house. Seraphine warns her that she has five days to escape. Everlyn manages to escape, but her peaceful neighbourhood, Grand Lake in Oakland, California has disappeared… and turned into a spooky forest straight out of a fairytale! She eventually finds her best friends Mackenzie Ellis, Ashley Hope, and Jake West, who are her only close friends, but do they still have her back or have they turned against her? Soon enough, Everlyn discovers that a murderer is lurking in the woods and eventually, death seems imminent for her.
